For the first time in recent memory, AWG Paris is hosting a FAWCO Regional meeting. Together, we will make it a great experience! Our goal is to have FAWCO representatives from all eight Region 3 clubs (6 in France, 2 in Spain). We will joyfully welcome all participants from our sixty-five member clubs in thirty-four countries around the globe. We will spread the wonderful enthusiasm that defines FAWCO fever!!!
The Region 3 Conference begins with a tour of Notre Dame with Rebecca DeFraites in the afternoon, followed by a dinner on Friday evening chez Sandy and Bob Gogel (where yes, you will see the lights of Eiffel Tower merrily twinkling from their windows) and continues Saturday, October 7 where we have secured the perfect venue near République. On Sunday morning, Sandy Gogel will offer a guided visit to the Marché aux Puces.
We have commitments to speak from both the FAWCO President (Sallie Chaballier) and the President of The FAWCO Foundation (Suzanne Wheeler). Tricia Saur, the Target Project Chair will come to talk about Hope Beyond Displacement. This project aims to build better futures through education and vocational and leadership training for refugee women and girls in Jordan. Hope Moore, FAWCO 2nd VP will also be present to introduce FAWCO to newcomers. We will also have a representative from YesAkademia, winner of a FAWCO Development Grant this year. We will also talk about how to apply for an Education Award for you or your family.
We are in the process of securing a very special keynote speaker. You will not be disappointed!
When you register, please fill out the questionnaire completely so we know how to plan. Please note that we are arranging reservations for dinner Saturday evening for those who want to come along. We hope to keep the cost to about 45 € per person (without wine.)
Your 60 € registration fee includes two Paris tours, dinner Friday evening, workshop materials, snacks, and lunch on Saturday. (If you are joined by your spouse/partner for dinner on Friday and/or tours, please add an additional 30€.) The fees DO NOT INCLUDE any lodging or the dinner on Saturday night. Any money left over after expenses are met will be donated to the FAWCO Target Project.
