Dear Potential AWG member
The American Women’s Group in Paris (AWG) extends a warm welcome to English speaking women from any country who wish to make friends, learn more about France, the United States and to embrace cultural understanding.
AWG History and Purpose
AWG was founded in 1949 as an outgrowth of the pre-war American Women’s Club. It is the longest-standing organization of American women in France. AWG means something different to every member.
For some, it’s the enormous number of Activities we offer including cooking classes, visits to expositions and tours of famous monuments. We offer activities on evenings and weekends for working women and families. We offer an activity almost every day.For some it’s the opportunity to get involved in the community and volunteer. Opportunities abound. Your painting, planting and friendly visiting skills are immeasurably valued.
Are you looking for a Book Club? Hiking group? Buddies for Bridge?French conversation groups. Meeting new friends at a local café? We offer all kinds of special interest groups. To many of us, it means taking advantage of it all! There is no need to be bored or lonely in Paris.
We will help you unlock this marvelous city.
Our Mission Statement
AWG Paris is a secular, non-profit volunteer organization. Our purpose is to foster and encourage social, education and cultural activities among English speaking women in France and to assist in furthering Franco-American relations. One of our principal goals is to support organizations that serve woman and children in need.
